Stacey Porter and the Panthers handed the Bandits their first loss of the tournament in the 2020 Summer Slam - Fully Loaded Softball grand final to take out the championship in its second year at Blacktown International Sportspark.

The Bandits stormed through the regular fixtures undefeated giving them deserved favouritism after they comfortably advanced to the final with a 9-2 win over the Lightning.

Panthers only loss came at the hand of the Bandits giving them a second place finish on the leaderboard, they were able to defeat the defending champions the Fury in a thrilling 9-8 victory, just scraping through in the bottom of the third inning.

In stark contrast to the Summer Slam format, the final between the Panthers and Bandits was the lowest scoring game of the tournament as the Panthers prevailed 3-2.

Justine Smethurst carried over her strong pitching from the Australia Pacific Cup and was named Player of the Grand Final for keeping the Bandits to just two runs.

Janice Blackman of the Bandits was awarded Best Batter and Kaia Parnaby named Best Pitcher, Stacey Porter picked up her second MVP award in as many tournaments after her AP Cup gong.
